Solution architecture
For rapid deployment of server infrastructure on the enterprise level, DEPO Computers has created a solution built on a modular basis on the basis of its own developments in the field of building integrated information systems.
As opposed to traditional architecture, in which computing nodes, network infrastructure and data storage system are implemented in separate modules, DEPO Computers offers a convergent computing platform that combines processing, storage and data transfer functions in a single module. The configuration of the convergent platform is optimized for processing and storing large amounts of information. The architecture of each module provides a high density of computing nodes, storage systems and networking equipment. As a result, a minimum number of server racks are required to house the modules in the data center.
Particular attention was paid to energy efficiency when developing the solution. Convergent DEPO platforms with high density of nodes reduce power consumption significantly. The solution also automatically adjusts the level of power consumption depending on the current load of the information system.

The architecture of each HSC will ensure high fault tolerance and flexible scaling of the information system in the future, as the customer's information system is further developed.
The DEPO Computers solution provides the ability to deploy in a data center that provides a ready-made engineering infrastructure, including server racks, power supply, air conditioning, etc. The solution provides easy installation of equipment in standard server racks.
The solution uses DEPO Storm servers, DEPO Storage systems, and DEPO Switch switching equipment. The equipment is designed within the technological partnership with the leading IT companies, using foreign technologies and components, integrated by DEPO Computers specialists into the hardware and software complexes. Besides, DEPO equipment is compatible with virtualization platforms and data protection hardware and software. This approach is especially relevant within the framework of the import substitution course adopted in our country.

Composition of the solution

Each hardware and software complex is designed to solve a specific task.
The DEPO ZEWS 700 is responsible for the processing and storage of enterprise information.
Each DEPO ZEWS 700 HSC is a convergent platform and consists of typical servers and storage systems that provide data processing and storage of up to 2.8 PB. The solution includes 13 DEPO ZEWS 700 HSCs. One of them is dedicated to solving tasks of scheduled system maintenance and instantaneous increase in processing and storage capacity during peak loads.

DEPO ZEWS 700 is a fully ready-to-install solution that includes three compute nodes based on modular DEPO Storm 5408T4 servers, a dedicated DEPO Storage 4960 storage system with block access to data, and DEPO Switch switches. Each modular server has 8 dual-processor blade servers.
Internal switching is provided by two DEPO BURAN 100 complexes based on specialized DEPO Switch, allowing high-speed data transfer between solution subsystems.
DEPO BURAN 400 complexes include high-performance DEPO switches, designed to receive information from video cameras.
DEPO OCEAN 7240 and DEPO OCEAN 7036 are combined into a separate subsystem that provides efficient work of infrastructure software.
Each HSS contains switches DEPO Switch 2484, which form a dedicated network of monitoring and management.

The switches are connected to a single DEPO DOZOR module, which allows administrators of the customer’s information system to work with the monitoring system via a web interface or a specialized application for mobile devices.
The proposed solution provides for a storage capacity of not less than 22 petabytes of information.
DEPO ZEWS 700 HSC uses modular servers DEPO Storm with a maximum density of computer nodes. 8TB hard drives and 3.6TB solid-state drives are installed in HSC DEPO OCEAN. This allowed us to significantly reduce the size of hardware and software systems.
Due to this approach, minimum space is used to locate HSSs in server racks in the data center.
In addition, the use of modern technologies provides a significant saving of electricity required for the work of hardware and software complexes.


The solution architecture provides for increasing the operational characteristics of any of the subsystems by adding new HSCs. Installation of additional hardware and software complexes is possible without interrupting the operation of the information system.
As the volume of processed information grows, it is sufficient to install a new HSC DEPO ZEWS 700, which ensures data processing and storage.
If the number of data transfer channels increases (both within the system and between external networks), installation of additional network HSCs DEPO BURAN 100 and DEPO BURAN 400 will be needed.
Universal storage HSCs DEPO OCEAN 7240 and DEPO OCEAN 7036, designed to ensure efficient operation of infrastructure software, are scalable by adding disk shelves and new controllers.

Fault tolerance

The solution is built with a high level of redundancy of computing, switching and storage systems.
DEPO ZEWS 700 provides N+1 redundancy within the solution. Thus, high availability of the information system as a whole is achieved.
Network components of the solution – HSC of internal switching system DEPO BURAN 100 and HSC
of external network interface system DEPO BURAN 400 - are N+N redundant. It provides high fault-tolerance of internal and external switching system.
In each server rack a dedicated network for monitoring and control is organized, which integrates all hardware and software complexes and includes a special monitoring module DEPO DOZOR 700.
The architecture of the module is designed to implement high availability. This gives system administrators continuous access to information on the current status of all components. The DEPO DOZOR software includes a special application for mobile devices, which simplifies monitoring of the system.
Ensuring uninterrupted operation
The modular architecture of the solution, its high energy efficiency, and support for hot swapping of computing nodes, disks, and power supplies significantly reduce the maintenance costs of the new DEPO hardware platform. At the same time, maintenance work and hardware and software upgrades can be performed without stopping the system.
